Kaplan Turbine

The Kaplan type turbine(also called axial flow turbine) is mostly suitable for hydropower stations with medium or low head. The Kaplan type turbines can be divided into fixed blade and rotating blade(double regulated Kaplan turbine) according to its structure. The fixed blade type is mainly used for small hydropower plant with medium and small capacity, small variation in load. While rotating blade type is mainly used for hydropower plant with medium and big capacity, big variation in load.

The Kaplan type turbines supplied by Bochi are ranging from 2 to 65m in water head, 0.2 to 100MW in capacity and 1 to 7m in runner diameter.
